JOURNEY OF THE BOSS...

He lost his authentic sound, and has since been on a journey to get it back while applying the new concepts he learned along the way in his music.

Régis Ilboudo (born January 1st, 2000), known professionally as Jordi Boss, is an artist, record producer, songwriter, performer, just to name a few.

He spent the majority of his life in his home country Burkina-Faso from where he then moved to Canada at the age of 13. Ever since his childhood Jordi Boss was dedicated to making changes through his words, even being selected to perform at a massive slam poetry contest in his hometown. 

Writing was always a passion of his and by being inspired by legends such as Malcolm X and Bob Marley,  it's not surprising to see how his words are so touching. He taught himself the English language at a late age to then embark in the music industry with his debut hip-hop project First Steps produced by Adam Elleithy on December 30th, 2020. 

But it was the release of his album Imperial Times with the single Boss Messing Around that got people from Canada and Burkina-Faso more interested about his story.

To stretch his wings furthermore, he then proceeded to collaborate with a few artists from Ottawa (Canada), Snoozy the Sage and Nicky9ine as well as Truly K. One of their most popular songs was Fighting For It released on May 27th 2022  which earned them a lot of attention. A song which they performed together in city’s most popular street (ByWard market).

But after spending all of his time doing Hip-Hop music, Jordi Boss felt that something wasn’t right. He then spent a lot of his waking hours exploring different music genres and listening to random instrumentals for hours. He eventually came to a revelation when his soul kept pointing him more and more into the Afrobeat genre. A sound directly from his home, Africa that he had no choice but to embrace.

Following that, on July 24th 2022, he released his first Afrobeat song Nonesee. Which got him a ton of love and support to the point where everyone wants him to sing the song at each one of his performances. 

But this is only the beginning, for Jordi Boss still has a lot to offer as he is constantly educating himself to make his art better and greater with time.
